Artist’s Statement: When the fabrics and theme of Friendship was announced, my idea popped into my brain. I had been making safety masks from the AEK Matryoshka dolls fabric for the COVID19 pandemic. We have had to keep our family in our hearts at a distance for some time. The little houses framing the piece signifies the safe distance.

Techniques Used: Block from Appli-Curves by Elaine Waldschmitt. Fused Applique, Machine quilting and Longarm free-motion quilting
