I met Catherine at Stevens Pond when she was painting this picture. She was attending the CPAWS Artist week called DRAW (see www.www.CPAWSOV-VO.org ). CPAWS Ottawa Valley director John McDonnell has been very active in the Sentier Dumoine Project making sure it has a strong element of nature interpretation and opportunities to interpret the Dumoine natural values through art and writing.
In the attached photo Catherine is painting this piece from the viewing platform CPAWS built as part of Sentier Dumoine in 2021.
Stevens Pond is named after the Stevens Family one of the early founders of the Dumoine Club circa 1920 .
CPAWS plans to build a second platform overlooking another pond filled with wildlife viewing opportunities on the trail. To volunteer or inquire about the CPAWS 2023 DRAW Camp email John at jmcdonnell@cpaws.org
