Fellow Friends of Dumoine volunteer Dan Charbonneau is an amazing carver and local historian. Dan has built replicas of all the voyageur canoes, pointer boats ,tug boats, and lumber camp sleighs and devices used to load them.
He is also a beautiful carver of birds and wildlife.
Dan has donated a lovely Bald Eagles head carving to our auction carved from a piece of wood found along Grants Creek,On .Grants Creek is part of the 18km corridor between Algonquin Park and the Ottawa River CPAWS is lobbying to preserve as a wildlife passage from Dumoine to Algonquin.
Dan is also building a replica of the Grande Chute timber slide for a display at the new Grande Chute visitor centre. Hopefully we can afford to buy some of his other models in the future. He is also an expert with a metal detector (photo)
The Bidder will receive the carving by mail directly from Dan . The bidder pays the shipping from Muskoka On.
