The successful bidder will make a donation to the Palmerston Agricultural Society.  That donation will be matched as a donation to the Meal on Wheels Program servicing the Minto area by Fotheringham Agra.  This donation will be on top of a $500.00 donation Fotheringham Agra will be making to the Meal on Wheels Program.

For example - if, through this auction, this item's final bid is $400.00.  Fotheringham Agra will make a $900.00 donation to Meals on Wheels.  The successful bidder makes a $400.00 donation to the Palmerston Agricultural Society.

VON- Meals on Wheels Program

The VON is a non-profit organization that provides services to seniors 65+ and adults living with a physical disability residing in Wellington County and the City of Guelph. The main office for VON is in Mount Forest. VON provides many supportive services within the community; Adult Day Programs, Transportation, SMART exercises, Senior Supportive Living Program, Telephone Reassurance, Friendly Visiting (on hold because of COVID-19), and Meals on Wheels.

The Meals on Wheels program is a highly utilized meal delivery program that offers hot and frozen meal options to clients. Hot meals are delivered to people residing in the towns of Wellington County, Monday-Friday. Each hot meal delivery includes a warm, fresh; soup, entrée and dessert. Frozen meals are available to ALL clients residing in Wellington County. Meals on Wheels supports clients who have had recent hospitalizations, decline in health, chronic health conditions (such as diabetes), loss of appetite, and lack of drive to prepare wholesome nutritious meals for themselves.

The Meals on Wheels program has delivered close to 22, 000 meals to seniors and adults living with a physical disability living in North Wellington this year alone. These meals are delivered solely by our team of over 90 volunteers in the community. This program supports people living in the community to stay in their homes for longer, while maintaining their health.
